This compilation featuring upcoming artists from the scene is a tribute to and is inspired by AGUA VIVA, the masterpiece of the iconic Ukrainian-born Brazilian novelist and short story writer Clarice Lispector (1920-77)

Água Viva is a complex book. It has no plot or story. It is neither fact nor fiction, impersonal nor personal — similar to a haiku, it is a series of scattered images and thoughts that come together to form an incredible whole. The way Lispector writes is like the way in which one creates an abstract painting: with no particular order, no set colour scheme, and no set point at which the painting is completely and clearly finished with unsettling silence in between.

The Lynti Khasi School, with its bare basic facilities, is trying really hard not only to educate the children of Umsawwar but to also strike a balance between education & the centuries-old traditional livelihood of the community where the children help their parents in the daily chores of rearing and farming.
