"Smoking Shiva" is Bishal Gurung hailing from a little hilltop town called Kirtipur on the outskirts of Kathmandu valley in Nepal. He is currently based in Darwin, Australia. Heavily into the dark side of the musical realm and exploring different dimensions of metal music, Bishal used to play with local Metal bands as a vocalist and guitarist during the late nineties.

As the story goes, he had a lucid sonic hyper-dimensional meeting (read in his dream 😋) with Goa Gil and Ariane. After this, his whole life took on a new meaning and a newfound glory of living to the will of Existence. After his lucid meetings and cosmic dances with the ferocious dark deities in the mountains, riverbanks, and forests gatherings in Nepal, he got his showering of liquid ecstasy and visions for his project "Smoking Shiva"

"I may not be your so-called technically Proficient DJ or producer but I believe my craft to be not that of practice but that of letting go and letting the spirit take over and merging the unconscious of my fellow humans with the void from where all life seems to manifest My belief is that regardless of the artist’s intentions while creating a track, each listener will hear a different story which resonates with their own life experiences. I draw inspiration from the weird sounds that we sometimes hear when we’re alone in the dark as well as the birds chirping away in the trees during a sunny day," says Bishal
